The start of a Blog

I spend a lot of time frequenting the internet.

What with

  • Work - I'm currently working with Javascript and ASP developing web apps for evanced solutions.
  • Entertainment - My girlfriend and I frequent EZTV and Piratebay to get a lot of our new movie and music collections. No Tivo anymore means we have to download the shows - but hey, pre-edited with no commercials isn't bad.
  • Survival Skills in worst case scenarios - I'm a firm believer
I'd say I spend a good amount of time in front of a computer, on the interwebs. I listen to Blogs, I have a digg account... I guess you could say my life is very web 2.0 oriented. After reading up on a blog of an old favorite co-worker of mine, I figured why the fuck not. He's got way cooler shit to talk about, but I've been wanting to get back into writing as I used to before I got into the whole computer trade as an income providing mechanism.

In the last year and half, since I move to Indianapolis from Bloomington and graduated from IU Informatics, I've noticed that I've been becoming a lot more independent. I think being away from the people I grew up with, as well as having an income with which I can support myself on has gone through great lengths in making me feel more "adult". The third portion of the adult chain is the ever affectionate spouse, of which I must say I've never been as happy as I am with Amy. I've never been with someone I thought I could successfully spend the rest of my life with... I've never understood why anyone would do that, even :P

I think in this move towards adulthood though, I've also never been as much of a "nerd" as I've been lately. I have started getting pulled back into comic books after being exposed to the absolutely amazing Walking Dead series. I'm now a publish day frequenter to the local comic book shop, he knows me on a first name basis. I have gotten into a collectible card game, the Warcraft TCG something I avoided after Magic: the Gathering. Not like I play it a little, like I travel with friends on the weekend to other cities to play it. I'm on a "team". I played in the nationals competition this year, and I'm planning on traveling to San Diego in December to attend Worlds, as a competitor. I'm even organizing Sanctioned tournaments at a local store, so we can get more people form our team into the big tournaments. But I guess I've always been an all or nothing kind of guy, its hard for me to get into something very casually, when I see the potential to blow it out of the water, given a little more effort.
